Round Bay! That's where I had my first sail ever, on my uncle's Comet. He let me handle the running backstays. I was seven years old.
Gad, that was a long time ago!

Oh, and we totally missed the Rapture here on Nevis. I think it must have passed by to the north...

Fitting little bits of trim in the after cabin head cabinetry, sweat dripping into my eyes, while trying to negotiate a space too small to be good for much. I would have missed the whole thing. I hope my 63rd rapture is as good.

Re: Where Were You at 6pm, er, 1800 hours?

I was under the impression that the end of the world event had been cancelled due to the lack of interest and the conflicting scheduling of the NHL playoffs. The good news however is that it will be rescheduled on a to be announced date. All for nothing I worked hard with friends, helping them dispose of their wine cache.

Cancelled due to lack of funding....
IMF Loan that was going to pay for it fell through due to main signatory being in the can...

Scattered my Dad's ashes off of Thomas Point. He collected Thomas Point Lighthouses...had over 100 of them. I still have them and have no idea what to do with them!

Say Hi to him for me next time you sail past......

BTW, I was anchored just south of the Palm Beach Inlet, dragging my kids around "Dinghy-surfing". A good day.

We r sailing by there today. I went to shore and picked some wildflowers. I'll put them in the water by Thomas Point and say hi to Dad.

Re: Where Were You at 6pm, er, 1800 hours?

I was in Barney's in Amsterdam!
I figured if he showed up anywhere, THAT's the place he'd show up...

I MAY have been slightly distracted, but I didn't see no rapture happening there. Well, no more than usual anyway.

Re: Where Were You at 6pm, er, 1800 hours?

Saturday's Rapture was postponed, as Jesus awaited announcement of surprise guest shot on the final Oprah (May 25).
The Saviour was reportedly "hopeful", but "okay with it" if not chosen.

... Elsewhere, Harold Camping, issued the following brief statement:
"The world doesn't end this week. Oprah does. My bad, sry."

Dang!! I was counting getting a mooring for Memorial Day weekend at the Island from the 2% that wouldn't be there! I figured I would be here after the rapture- so we were having sundowners and a good dinner to celebrate the new space!
