I saw the O’Day 322 before I bought the Hunter, but it sold before I made an offer. The Hunter was my “rebound” boat. Literally the first boat I looked at after I lost out on the O’Day 322. Years later, the guy who bought the O’Day 322 reached out to me to let me know he moved and was selling the boat. I bought it and never looked back.

The only downside is that every time I look at a bigger boat boat, my wife reminds me that the O’Day 322 “is my perfect boat”. I must have said that a lot when it sold….I don’t remember as I was in a state of depression

First boat was a gift from my father, a Crosby Hawk 29 with twin outboards, at that time it was the fastest boat that Crosby had ever built. After replacing the outboards with new Yamaha 250’s it cost me about what my dad had paid for the whole boat.
Next was a Ted Hood Whisperjet 40 . Loved the looks and performance. We ran her for 18 years and 38,000 miles but as we got older we wanted a more stable and comfortable boat.
Those who know me know that when I go, I go big. Next boat was and still is a MJM 50Z she’s such a solid boat and light too. Comfortable for extended cruising and fast. From CT we go to Maine , leaving Friday after work and showing up in mid coast Saturday afternoon.
The reason I said “was” is that a new Krogen Express 52 is being built as I write this. Time to slow down and smell the seaweed.
