Portlight orientation/ opening

Looking to replace several portlights and considering placing the hinge and rain gutter at the bottom, with inward opening. My reasoning is that on an inward slated coach roof this would improve the ability to keep the drizzle out when opened for ventilation (PNW problem, along wit moss ).

Thoughts/ advice?
