Because I think most have lost the subject under discussion.

I'm going to broaden the subject then since you mentioned the bimini. SUN PROTECTION. Bimini. Lotion. Top. Clothes. Whatever form it takes. We are both fair skinned and because of our time on the water plus living in Florida plus having a pool we are tanned. However, if we were not careful we would be getting many times more sun with all the potential effects that can have later in life. Would we like it if we could just ignore the risk and spend all the time in the open under the sun? Definitely. But that's not a healthy approach and I've known several who have suffered the consequences and now can't even enjoy moderate sun.

sun shade. dodger bimini..all the items club sailors denigrate. most important.
will save you from cancers.
i use mix n match..old sails..whatever to keep me out of direct sun. while anchored or when sailing..both. sun is not our friend

Wifey B: Actually we do lead a pretty healthy life style. Everything might be a bit too far but if it's going to be unhealthy then it better really be worth it. Besides, we like putting sun tan lotion all over each other.

Now you can only guess what we do unhealthy.....well, eat steak.....um......and......um....omg can't say that.....um...

But seriously we do try to lead healthy lives.

I don't think anyone has mentioned good knives yet. Of course we have some on our boat, but we have friends who pack their own knives (in the checked luggage) if they're going to be on a charter boat where the galley equipment is usually not worth a darn.

PS, & I agree about finding a good coffee in the US--it's very difficult--even more so than finding a good beer!
