Help me find a boat and I'll pay you!

After going half blind staring at my computer searching for a boat for the last 3 months, I am turning to the community and offering a 5% purchase price bounty for helping finding a boat!

Here is my ideal boat:

In the New England area and as far south as Annapolis on the east coast

In excellent condition
Under $50k (implies $500 bounty)
35-39 feet in length
Not center cockpit

Accommodations
Sleeps 5 in proper permanent berths and NOT settees. Can be any combination of single/double.

Engine
Low engine hours (or newer engine)
Heat exchanger
Fresh water cooled

Sails, rigging and canvas
Sloop/Cutter, no ketch
Replaced in last 10 years - sails, standing and running rigging
cruising spinnaker of some sort with sock
bimini and dodger

Galley
Fridge
Hot and Cold
Watermaker

Electronics
SSB and VHF
Radar, GPS and AIS
Autopliot
Solar panels

Mechanical
wind vane steering
windlass
wind generator
ST winches
Large water and fuel tanks

Misc
liferaft

If I buy the boat you found, you get the bounty!

Last time I multiplied $50,000 x .05, the answer was $2,500.

I use the same globally recognized math as Bash.

For your boat, there are a lot of boats out there that will fit the bill, so long as you're willing to add a few odds and ends. Lose the SSB, Windvane, and water maker and you'll find a lot of boats. Then after purchase install the equipment you like rather than what came with the boat!!

lol, you are right, I meant 0.05 %

I expect that I won't meet all my needs, they were the "ideal" boat....

Again, using global math rules I think you meant 1% (or 0.01 multiplier) ...
... or bounty of $2,500 ...

Tall order, you probably should be more flexible on the location ... just IMO.

My sentiments exactly.

I read the list from bottom to top (ok I must be a bit weird...) and burst out laughing when I saw the $50,000. The bar stopped, everyone turned and looked at me ..... So I showed them all. Now everyone is laughing, buying beers and doing a conga line dance.

And maybe the low engine hours, the crispy sails, the radar and maybe the life raft. Possible the solar panels, the wind generator, the AIS, and the dodger/bimini combo as well.

Bottom line: the OP's "ideal boat" wouldn't last on the market two days at that price without being snatched up.

Re: Help me find a boat and I'll pay you!

Except for the 5 berths a Hunter 37 cutter could easily be done in that price range. The 5 berths is going to be the problem. Lots of older boats could be had at that price range. Then add what you want/need.

Bets on how long the OP lets us cut his thread to pieces before giving up and reposting

Here's my snip:

Shouldn't the bounty go UP as the price comes DOWN?

Why offer to pay some Internet junkie the same commission you could pay a professional buyers broker who might actually be worth the money?

Re: Help me find a boat and I'll pay you!

Agreed. The internet junkies will help you for free. Find a boat broker with market knowledge.

Some of the people here are brokers. You've probably already been pm'd
