I have never bothered with Social Media, i prefer to keep in touch by more personal communications.

Now, if there was anti-social media, maybe I could be tempted.

What did you think of that link to the 37ft ocean cruising yacht I forwarded to you, it should comfortably hack a voyage Perth to Auckland easily, it looked well appointed.

I am 78 now, and long haul ocean sailing is getting a bit beyond me, the spirit is still willing but the osteo arthritis restricts getting about safely on deck a bit if it is rough, a legacy of playing Rugby in my miss spent youth. It's a bastard growing old, but it just beats the alternate of dying young.

If one has to restrict one's sailing to a single country, It's pretty hard to beat NZ, especially the top end of North Island east coast.

Boat: Coral Seas 36 displacement launch

Re: Buying a trawler style boat in the US and exporting to NZ

The yacht ex Perth certainly looks a good deal. I would preferably settle for something like a Farr 38 if I still wanted a yacht but a displacement launch is so much easier to manage, likely on my own. My offshore stuff is done now too, also in my 70's. Might have to settle for a Genesis, the full sedan type, or similar though the planing sections aft and fine bow don't make it the best in a big following sea.
