Fish Bibble?

This is really a sub-topic of books for a cruiser's library but I thought addressing specific topics might make it easier to find things...

I heard tell of a reference book one could use to identify fish you caught that had handy info like... if it was poison... and if not how to cook it.

Anyone know what this might have been?

Thanks,
J

There are over 20,000 living species of fish. They range in size from the .31-in. (7.9-mm) Paedocypris that lives in tropical swamps in Sumatra, to the 45-ft (14-m) whale shark.

There's numerous on-line edible fish guides available, including:

Fish Identification: Fish Identification: Find class
Fish Chart: California scuba hunting game fish identification and description chart
List of edible fish: List of edible fish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

60 inch mahi mahi. Didn't realize it was so big so we didn't measure it until I had filleted it so I am holding up a fish carcass. Just as well, don't think I could have held it up without taking most of the meat off. Took an hour to land it, all the time worrying that a shark might steal it. Got over 20 pounds off it, just sorry we didn't have enough room in the freezer for the carcass, makes a delicious fish chowder.
