Removing Moister

I'm in NW Florida, I have a morgan 30' it's in a slip with electricity.

What dehumidifier products do you recommend? My boat is sealed up really well I just find it stays a little damp from our up and down winter temps and high humidity.

Re: Removing Moister

Right now my boat has an electric dehumidifier running in it set to 40% humidity, when it reaches 40% it turns off and every hour or so it tuns on and runs the fan to sense humidity, if its high, the compressor kicks in and it runs until it gets below set point, It also adds a little heat to the inside of the boat, not a whole lot, but in Winter any little bit helps.
Mine has a bucket, but I have the hose connected so it drains into the shower sump and the condensate is pumped overboard automatically.
I'm in PC as well

I got mine through Amazon, looks like about $150

I run a Meaco DD8L with the drain hose running into bilge.

Works great and warms the boat as the output air is approx. 10C above ambient temperature.

Re: Removing Moister

I went to home depot and picked up this,

GE 30-Pint Dehumidifier-ADEL30LR - The Home Depot

when we're not on the boat it lives on the galley counter top with a hose into the sink kept at 55% the boat stays nice and dry, with no mildew on the overhead or ports, and no moisture added to the bilge. An added plus to this one is if power is lost it will revert to the last selected mode.

Re: Removing Moister

Be very circumspect with respect to the unattended use of a dehumidifier. There have been problems with significant consequences. See (click on) "Dehumidifier Recall"

FWIW...
