Open Ocean Water maker

Has anyone had any experience with the 12V Open Ocean water maker? We are looking for 12V option in a water maker and want something that is simple to maintain, with not too much that can go wrong. We are looking at Little Wonder, Spectra (very pricey!), Stella and now came across Open Ocean.

Feedback on knowledge or experience with 12V versions of any of the above would be appreciated.

Re: Open Ocean Water maker

It makes 9gph. Calls for 350 watts of solar. So at 12.6volts dc that's probably around 28 amps to run the hp and boost pump. Vs 9 amps to make almost the same amount of water as the spectra. Also the hp 12v pumps are pretty noisy.
As for their High output 18 gph 12v unit it's a 68 amp draw to make 18gph. Vs say a spectra cape horn which most I've seen put out 16 to17 gph drawing just 18 amps.
Is the cost savings enough to justify running a Honda / generator longterm or buying that much more in solar panels?
