Fort Lauderdale Catamaran Refit/Service: "Just Catamarans" !!!

My wife and I arrived in our 44' cat in Fort Lauderdale on New Year's Eve, needing a number of small and not-so-small projects completed before we set off on our circumnavigation. Motoring up the New River, and arriving at Lauderdale Marine Center, we were not optimistic. The river is lined with mega yachts, and the marina is one of those mega-marinas with huge sheds and big boats.

Under a separate post, I'll comment on the uncommonly friendly and engaging marina staff and service, but here let me speak to my fortune in discovering Just Catamarans, a full-service company specializing in, yes, catmarans.

Headed up by Kent, but with a staff that includes Johan, Kenny, and Raphael, they embraced our unreasonable timetable and accepted about 10 separate projects ranging from cabinetry (thanks Kenny!) to engine service and re-installs of fuel filters, anchor rollers, and splash skirts in the anchor locker (thanks Raf!).

When they were out of their element\, they were quick to recommend alternates, and in each case, put in a good word for us and helped streamline all of our work.

Not sure we could have EVER left the states without them, and a big thanks to Just Catamarans!

Best,

Jon Glaudemans
