Re: Persistent SeaSickness - Discouraging

Try this. What have you got yo lose? Try some Vicks in your belly button. I have yet to have a failure, and most become my best buddy after trying this. Be sure the product has Menthol on the formula. The menthol is sensed enough by the brain to subconsciously distract it and interrupt the seasickness mechanism. (my opinion) Please post results. AFTER trying. Thank You

Re: Persistent SeaSickness - Discouraging

If you want to try the "exotic" here are some "solutions" folks have pursued: 1. eat seafood before you depart; 2. drink alcohol; 3. stare off into the far horizon before you barf; 4. get behind the helm and have something to occupy your attention; 5. avoid going down below; 6. avoid smelling diesel fumes; 7. do not drink lots of water(normally before you barf, you get a very dry mouth); and 8. do not lie down.

For us we get sick regardless what we use and just put up with it till sea legs are in tack or the storm has passed. Its the dry heaves that really hurt. That vile yellow bile that offers no relief. In theory the old you get the less you get sea sick; but we are in our 70s and have not noticed that to be true for us. Happy barfing.
