Cruiser-friendly medical in New Orleans

We are berthed temporarily in New Orleans. My wife needs a mammogram and we both are due for dental checks. She has been calling around and no medical facilities will do a mammogram without a "referral" from a doctor. Seems silly to pay for an office visit to satisfy some bureaucratic rule. Anybody know of a solution for her? Need a cruiser-friendly dentist too.

Has your wife checked with Planned Parenthood. They offer low cost women's health care.

Komen was one of the ones requiring local residency and a doctor's order. We will keep hoping to find a solution.

Have you called the local hospitals? Some will hold clinics for mammogram or have mobile mammography vans. Usually they have a provider who will do an exam and then you get the mammogram.
