Weather Forecasting - Comparing Barometer Readings

I have been on a quest to find an NMEA barometer, so I could store barometer readings long term together with weather maps.

I find that if we turn up in the same area in the same season from year to year, then last year's weather maps (and how their predictions change) help me decide on model reliability and system movement and development this year. Frequently I also find myself wishing I had barometer readings from last year to add into the mix (we have Weems & Platt on the bulkhead). I do write notes to myself with every long analysis I do, but I'm really wishing for a pressure trend over multiple days.

Am I overthinking this?

So my goal to find an NMEA barometer is so that I could write a small app to log time, position, and barometric pressure on a computer for long-term storage.

Do you know if such app already exists?

How about ? ➥ GCDC B1100-1 Barometric Pressure Data Logger
