Updating Charts-- The Cathlamet Bay

Okay, so I'm sitting here, happily reading the LNMs and updating my charts.

Here's my question.

In District 13, in LMN 45/12, the Cathlamet Bay South Channel Light #2 was marked "TRLB"-- temporarily replaced with a lighted bouy.

In LMN 16/13, the Cathlamet Bay South Channel Light #2 was destroyed. That is, it was marked "Struct Dest" in the LMN.

In LMN 19/13, it was replaced with a temporary bouy with the same characteristics and number, some distance south.

In LMN 20/13, it was marked extinguished.

So.

Which light was extinguished, the destroyed light or the temporary bouy?

Which light was destroyed in week 16?

It doesn't make any sense to mark a light that has been destroyed as extinguished, but there isn't anything in the LMN that differentiates between the destroyed light and the temporary replacement bouy.

Futhermore, it doesn't make any sense to extinguish the temporary bouy until and unless the original light has been replaced and is functioning, but there isn't anything that says that's so, either.

nope, not quite. I load a gpx file into OpenCPN as a layer. It can be updated as an entity. ..but sorry, I can't answer your local question...my limited attention span has it as: the structure was replaced with a buoy that was thereafter "extinguished" but the buoy itself is still there...? perhaps the light interfered with more important ones or was too hard to maintain or...

I guess I'll have to call the Coast Guard.

I wish there were a simple way to update iNavX. It seems to be the one I look at the most often.

Navionics can be updated, but it's a pain.

if the light is destroyed then it is extinguished, no light, isn't it. regardless is it destroyed or someone switched it off.


what they should do, put wreck mark
