How did the El Nino affect your Pacific sailing?

Reading today the El Nino is over and the trade winds are resuming there normal patterns.

How did the most recent El Nino affect your Pacific sailing?

Re: How did the El Nino affect your Pacific sailing?

el nino spawned canes of greater intensity than usual. remember we had 2 in a row el nino years, super el nino gave us patrica the cane from hell.
you must be new here to not know the canes we have enjoyed in pacific of late, specifically the past 2 years of el nino and super el nino. 2014 beginning of season there were 5 cat 5 canes terrorizing the ocean , epac basin. ace was higher than ever.
patricia screwd up my ability to sail by breaking my mizzenmast. yes i use it when i sail.
puddle jumpers might be able to speak of the trade winds and how they were affected by el nino.
