Garmin Colorado 400c as NMEA data source for Open CPN

Has anyone hooked up a Garmin Colorado 400c via USB cable to a PC running Windows XP as the NMEA data source for Open CPN? I can't get Open CPN to see the Colorado. I really need some help with this.

O.K., I get it. It can't be done, so I got a dedicated puck GPS for the PC. It works great with Open CPN, YaY!

Was that a garmin puck? I'm getting no luck with mine at all and my other garmin hooked up with a usb/serial cable only works sporadically then drops off. Tony
