In your first post, you said you were already at a 7:1 scope.
Under normal circumstances, you'd be at a 4 - 5:1 scope (or even 3 maybe, if not enough room).
In the worst of circumstances, a scope of around 8:1 would be max, more won't do much if anything at all for your hold.

I'm just wondering why you'd be at 7:1 under normal circumstances and even more when the wind starts blowing? A 7:1 scope is already a 'sh*t hitting the fan' scope

I think an important point was missed, tying a knot weakens the rope...article below is one example of the info...summary knots weaken line...maybe 50%
