Bugel Anchors are Designed to have a Swivel, Not a Shackle.

Just for the record....

If you have a Bugel anchor then you should have a swivel as they are not designed for having a shackle.

The end of the shank has a round hole (not a slot) and the end of the shank is enlarged so that the swivel does not catch as it rotates up and down while in use.

I'm not saying that I agree with the use of shackles, you do not have a choice with the Bugel.

You also should use a swivel that is recommended for use with the Bugel, such as the WASI Powerball.

A poor quality or under strength swivel with a Bugel would be a dangerous combination.
