Name This Dinghy

Oh boy... another "which boat" thread!

I want a dingy that:

*Can carry enormous loads
*Can row well
*Can plane with an 8 horse engine
*Is stable in the rough stuff
*Keeps spray to a minimum when planing
*Weights next to nothing (ha ha )
*Is in the 10-12ft range

Any advice?

Was leaning toward aluminum jon/fishing type boats. Getting tired of inflating my dying Caribe.

These are pretty rugged and the 12' VV hull model has a 42" wide bottom they have a 10' but has a 36" bottom.

Some downsides: they are noisy, can cause damage when bumping against a hull. Maybe spray the floor with truck bed liner for noise reduction and put a good soft white rub rail around the gunnel. I like the idea and may try it some time, I don't know if if they are stable enough to board over the side when snorkeling?

I just got a new 10" alum RIB. Great boat. They are made in NZ imported by TradeWinds in Costa Mesa CA. Excellent prices too .. better than Avon RIBa at Defender. I can plane with an 8 at half throttle (one person), dry, no swamping large tubes. Check it out. Hypalon too.

It rows OK, It has a deep V hull. and a sole with a bilge, so you don't get wet feet. I row little so I have no comparison. To my eye it's the best RIB out there, bar none.
