Adding Stability / Floatation to Walker Bay 8 Dinghy

We have a WB-8 dinghy that we love for its toughness, lightness, sailing ability and row-ability (?).
However 2 (average weight) adults, some groceries and a 4HP outboard at half throttle results in perilous voyages in choppy seas as the freeboard is a bit limited.
I am looking at fixing 3 x 12" diam fenders each side, horizontally, using saddles and Spectra to increase the freeboard and the stability.
Walker Bay have an after-market kit available but it is almost as expensive as the dinghy's purchase price.
If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, they would be most welcome.
Regards
j.j.

This is 8 stowaway fenders -4 down each side, inside of mesh tubes. I've made a couple of set of these and they work great.

PM me for more details.

I make a product which you might find useful but I don't think I'm supposed to promote it here. There is a post in the Commercial Posts Forum: four from the top.

I hope I'm not breaking any rules.

Yeah. The OP mentioned that. They have their negatives, and it not just price.

I'm sure everyone that owns a walker Bay 8 including me would like to know how you did it. So why not post it? Just noticed it's from 2010. I've seen this done before I just would like to know techniques. anyone else?
