Newbie with a question

Hi everyone. Just found this forum while surfing for information on my Barient winches.

My 222 O'day have these winches on the cabin top. Question is how do they come apart? I have a black plastic what looks like a removable cover down in the bottom of the socket for the winch handle. Can't figure out how this is to come out.. From what I have read, a lot of winches have a Phillips or hex bolt that is unscrewed to take the winch apart. My starboard winch is getting stiff to turn. Port one turns nicely. Thank you is advance for any advise. This is my first post.
