Any manuals etc...they look like nice winches.
Thanks
I knew this would be a fun thread.

Photos would help but if it is anything like the attached it looks like there is a spanner surface sticking up. I would suspect that you hold the winch with a winch handle and use a slim spanner to undo the top...

You could also use a Wench - groan...

Other than that look for a circlip up near the top.

Post photos and we can make better guesses.

Google was interesting. Looks like "davis" (the wind indicator folks) bought this out but trademarks are expired and there is nothing on the Davis Website. Totally unsupported product.

Did see some message board stuff of people looking for parts.

Re: Unknown Winches

This moderator has the opinion that the title "Unknown wenches" (although those may be related to sailing in some areas) will lead to comments not related to items built by Lewmar or Harken, and being the mind reader he normally is assumed to be by some CF members, has unilaterally decided that the real title, henceforth, shall be "Unknown Winches".

This may lead to followup comments being not quite as colorful, but I am sure that is what the OP intended.

Re: Unknown Winches

He gets a kickback from harken via the ads on the forum. A harken scam, so to speak. If it's not harken illegal, it harken well ought to be. To get back to winches, I'm looking for an old bronze one, solid as possible. No wisecracks please.

Hi there..

were you able to figure out the Woosley winch? I happen to buy two of those winches and would love to know if someone has a manual etc.

Hey...

I have EXACTLY the same (Model 160) Telo/Woosley winches. And for the life of me I cannot seem to be able to pull them apart to service them in fact the same issue there does not seem to be a clip to ring to unthread fro the top..
If you happen to have a manual and/or way to disassemble these I will truly appreciate you sharing.

Regards,

Sean

Re: Unknown Winches

I couldn’t find any manuals pertaining to these winches. However, 10 minutes with a dremel and a cut-off wheel. No problemo.
