Local sailmakers in Alameda or Oakland (California)

I'd like to have my genoa evaluated and modified if it is in good enough shape. I haven't worked with any local sailmakers before, so I am looking for experiences, good and bad.
I've sewn dingy sails before, and minor repairs, but not on sails this big...
I guess any location in the southern part of the SF Bay area would be fine, too!

Leading Edge sails in San Mateo. Joe's done some sail repairs and made the sails on my current boat. Did a great job. The nearest to the South Bay you'll find I think.

The times I've done business with the Quantum Sails loft in Point Richmond have all been positive experiences. You'll want to talk to Ben.

tenchiki,

Y'all might consider picking up a Latitude 38. Lots of sail lofts advertise in it.

I've had very positive sail repair experiences with Dominic of Marchal Sail makers in Alameda.

Pineapple Sails in Alameda is a great loft. They make quality sails and will give you good advice. Kame and Sally care about sails and sailing and are not just in the business to sell you a new sail.

Hogan Sails in Alameda: Same parking lot as Svensen's Yard. Steve McCarthy owns the loft. He is excellent. I have had him build a main, repair jibs and evaluate sails. He does a lot of cruising sails as well as racing. Pineapple Sails is a very good loft also maybe a little more $$$. Hmmm..... there are two Yankee Dolphins at Richmond Yacht Club.
Cheers Mike

We had DeWitt sails, but James has since retired to sailing dinghys and artwork.

Another vote for Pineapple. When I was shopping for a code 0 at the boat show I talked to all the sailmakers present, including Quantum and North. Kame was the only one who actually listened to what I said about my requirements and gave me a very competitive quote.

I vote leading edge. Off the 101 exit 417. San Mateo. Why drive to Alameda? Alameda sucks.

Yeah, drive to the Peninsula. That hotbed of sailing and light traffic.
