Code Zero

Hi all, I've just added a code zero on a Bamar continuous line furler. Yet to try it, a little to much wind at the moment.

It's made of 2.2oz nylon and has a stick on UV protector on the foot and Luff.

My question, how good is this UV protection as it's different from the normal UV sunbrella strips on jib. Do cruisers with a similar setup leave the sail in place most of the time happy that the UV strip does sufficiently protect the nylon sail?

While I'm not moving much I'll pull it down but once I'm back underway I'd like to keep it up permanently other than in bad weather.

Thoughts?

Re: Code Zero

You need to keep the weight down so it is the best option. The sticky back uv is the best. It should add some reinforcement to the furled sail too.
I don't leave mine up after furling unless it is the middle of the night and to risky to retrieve as it mucks up the flow on the headsail if the wind has moved forward. I also don't have UV.
