I had a 28 Sabre so about the same size spar. You may have to loosen the rig all right and even apply upwad pressure on the bottom of the mast ya only need 1/2 inch

I think I have to take her to a yard and have the mast pulled to do this right, local yard has a waiting list thanks to Mathew....

Here are more pics with my thoughts...please feel free to comment, adding solid blocks under the mast base I think would prevent further sagging, I would epoxy them in place I suppose.

Looks like another good idea goes for naught. Either that or the mast step has been crushed so is putting to much weight on the mast pin/deck. I once looked at a Vancouver 27 that I was interested in that had a deck stepped mast. The core hadn't been sealed properly and the deck had crushed. First clue was the puddle of water at the base of the mast.

The deck area around the collar is ok, only a small amount of water in the balsa, Can be filled I think

You will need chocks, rubber mast wedges, to be inserted between the mast deck ring and your mast.
