Bronze Deck Hardware

I have some some cast bronze deck hardware. Its in good shape other than the chrome has bad pitting and flaking off. I was thinking of trying to remove all the chrome and just staying with no finish (I don't mind the look to the greenish patina.)

Any suggestions how to have these parts stripped or otherwise cleaned up?

Thank You

Re: Bronze Deck Hardware

I think you can take them to a plating shop and they will un-plate them and even polish them if you want.

Re: Bronze Deck Hardware

I tried removing mine with an acid from a pool supply and battery charger...I forget the type of acid. It sort of worked.

I switched to grinding it off with abrasive disk on grinder. Make sure you are good with grinder before you start. This worked great.
