Wilcox Crittenden Joker Valve replace?

I cannot find the valve without buying the rebuild kit. Has anyone found it or, does anyone know if another valve could be substituted?

We have not looked for one for decades but that was one reason we tossed the WC Junior a 25 years ago and bought a Lavac. The cost of the WC rebuild kit was crazy expensive in the 90's and I am sure it has not gone down in price. We figured 1 rebuild kit a year could help pay for the Lavac. Now after 20 some years we are in the black haha!
