pirate Passed My Day Skipper Course

Just thought I would let my friends know that I have passed my RYA Day Skipper course, its been an incredible experience as I only sailed for the 1st time 6 months ago, I would like to thank all on the forum who have encouraged me and answered questions that I have had! I would also like to recommend my brilliant instructor Gordon Allen, what a hoot this guy is, ex forces, he reminded me of John Cleese in his maner but was a quite incredible sailor! I took my course with www.sailing.gi out of Gibraltar and must say it is the most incredible place to sail, we went along the Spanish coast and also sailed to Northern Africa, the conditions were testing with big swells and a lot of heavy traffic, i was lucky to experience a huge variation of weather from heavy rain and mist to brilliant sunshine, it got me thinking as to where some people have taken courses and how the experience was, am now seriously boat hunting as well as property selling to fund it, best, Pablo

Congratulations, Pablo - it's a good feeling getting the first one, isn't it?

Thanks Saucy, yes, its a bit special for me having never sailed before and to think where i was 6 months ago, still cant believe it to be honest! Ive been a bit lazy regarding the marketing of the pub and need to pull my finger out! Ive a wicked tan and can only recommend you visit Gibraltar if you have not been, a great place to sail from with Africa only 3 hours away, the cus cus in Ceuta was yummy....it was quite an experice having aeroplanes flying almost directly over the boat as they come in to land in Gib...ohh......GIB rocks on Friday nites with a cracking live rock band in the bar next to the casino in Ocean Village...was it just my imagination or were there 2 girls to every guy???
