What Do You Know About Power Seats?

I have a bench seat at my helm (2 seater) which will move forward and back electrically.

It is a comfortable seat but does not have the bolster fold up to provide a lean to when standing. It is designed more for cruising with A/P as you cannot reach the wheel when sitting properly.

Question is, does anyone know of any mechanism that could fit under the seat that would lift the entire seat about a foot? This would provide a lean to on the edge of the seat.

Anyone seen anything like that or am I dreaming?

Toil and sweat...

Welcome to the world of boats for people.
Without seeing your seat it's hard to say. Can you give us some photographs (The ones in your album look nice, but don't seem to be of your seat).
It's possible that you might need to do a total rebuild of your seat to get what you want.

You may be right with the total rebuild comment. But here are a couple pics I took yesterday.

You can see the slides underneath and there is not much space, maybe a couple inches.

Custom upholstery shop?

Only thought that comes to mind is to see if a custom upholstery guy will come and look at it and maybe do a rebuild.

If it were mine and were driving me crazy I'd probably do something like pull the whole thing out, build a mockup of cheap ply that was what I wanted and then do whatever it took to get it working.

But redoing jobs gets old fast.

You are probably correct.

Thanks,
