Pacific ocean trawler?

I am casually looking for a new boat.
I have eyeballed the nordhavns, but they are far out of my price range.
Is there anything like that, single small engine able to be motored 4000 miles, that is under 100K?

Ranger Tug makes various sizes. The smaller Ranger Tugs are right around 100k. Or a late model slightly larger one might work for you.

I had seen that one before. I don't know what the deal is with the rudder being on the transom? Diesel ducks are on my radar, and will be still, thank you.

Most Ranger Tugs are towable. That makes it easier to get the boat from anywhere. But making it towable means the beam is only 8.5' wide.

Are you looking for a new boat...or a new boat to you? If looking for a 'new' boat there really is not much new for 100k except the smaller boats.

The original "passagemaker" built by Robert Beebe is in Trinidad. I saw her in Chagaramas last week, you maybe able to get her for within your budget.

There are very few production trawlers capable of the kind of long range cruising you're are thinking about. The first requirement is a full displacement hull design like a Krogen, Nordhavn or Willard. The majority of "trawlers" these days have hard chined semi-displacement hulls or outright planing hulls like the Ranger tugs. With a planing hull like the Ranger you'll be lucky to get a 400 mile range, not 4,000. With a semi-displacement hull you'll double or triple that but not much more &, bottom line, these are coastal cruisers.

The Krogen 42 that I found on Craigslist is an anomaly in that the typical price for these boats is more than triple this price meaning this is probably a project. LRCs have to be strongly built high quality boats and there is a corresponding increase in price. To find one under 100k is rare.
