lake champlain canal

Has anyone tried to take a 1999 Maxum 4100 scb or similar boat through the champlain canal. Trying to check heights of boat above waterline. Thank you for responses

Re: lake champlain canal

When I did it in 1980 I remember the vertical clearance to be 15 feet.

Thank you Cliff. Going to have to take radar free and hang under arch.

Re: lake champlain canal

We never saw anything less than 17' under the fixed bridges. We were there in June. In theory, there's a couple that can be as low as 15' at high pool levels, but I've heard they can lower the pool if you need it.

Thank you Capt. Tom, we checked with gatekeeper at Lock 12 at Lake end and he said same thing. Anchor light had to be turned down. We start thru tomorrow morning.
