Hurth Transmission Leak

I have transmission fluid in the bilge after running the boat. I cannot find a leak anywere. While running the boat there is no oil in the bilge. Back at the dock still no oil. Come back the next day and a least a quart of Transmission oil is in the bilge. I'm at a loss as to what's cauing the problem.

Has anyone had a similar experience, or a guess as to what the problem might be??

Wow.... not sure my Hurth took much more than a quart.. wierd one... do you have a transmission cooler?

Where is your SPARE oil stored ?? maybe a leaking container.

I do have an oil cooler, but have not seen any fluid on or around it, as far as the spare oil its stored in the dockbox so probably not a factor.

I'm assuming your keep adding oil to the transmission. It holds less than a qt., a bit more with a cooler. If so that's the problem. Seal in the trans, oil line, oil cooler. If your not adding oil the leak has nothing to do with the trans. (it would only leak a qt. one time.)

Have you tasted it to verify it's tranny fluid????

Where on board do you store your strawberry pancake syrup???

Maybe the alignment is off, so the rotation is working the shaft seal to leak, that then still stops leaking when the shaft is stationary.

I had to replace the shifter rod and plate. It leaked bunches. Parts place said theat was very rare.
