Post PNW- launch and cruise So. Sound

I am considering trailing my boat from Oregon to launch and cruise South Sound, Washington.
A couple questions first.
Where is a boat ramp close to driving north up I-5 into the area?
Also, where can i park my truck/trailer in a safe secure location?

Just in the planning stages right now.
Thanks, Patrick

Some friends of mine have had their boat hauled 3>4 times up I-5, they always launched at Olympia.
I don't know the name of the launching facility.

Try swantown marina for launch and secure parking. Be sure to buy the state parks mooring pass. Lots of mooring buoys at state parks in South sound

Re: PNW- launch and cruise So. Sound

We did the same thing with our trailer sailor. We looked at Swantown but ultimately chose Tacoma as a little more central in the Sound. We put in at the Point Defiance boat launch, and there is plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. We would then take the boat down to Foss Marina, leave it for the summer, and trailer it back in the fall.

Good Luck!
