Cruiser Rental or Lease

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and may be asking a foolish question, but thought I would give it a try.

My family and I love the lure of boating and cruising the Florida Keys and Bahama's. There are many boat rentals in the open fisherman type class.

We were wondering if there is a group of business that may lease or rent cruisers to responsible people. Background checks if needed to ensure this responsible standing.

We would like to rent or lease something like a 28-34 foot Sundancer or like for just cruising to a resort and docking at the local marina during our stay.

What we dont want is to join a expensive club with large up front cost and monthly fee's.

Can anyone provide some feedback as to if this is a viable avenue of boating or am I out here in left field on this one.

Your honest answers are greatly apprieceiated.

Best regards

David

Yes there are yacht chartering firms and many Yacht brokers arrange charters. You should find them around the waterfront or in the Yellow pages. They are generally since they don't handle like those open fishing types and as a result most companies will be interested in your boathandling, seamanship and navigation skills.

Good Luck

Leasing/renting boats

Thanks Joe,

I will look in the yellow pages in the Ft. Lauderdale area. There should be many there. I did find one, but it appears they are "out of business". I will look for alternatives.

If you know or of heard of any in the South Florida area, please forward them to me.

Thanks for the response.
