Question Cruiser or Sport Fisher?

I am looking for a boat to use coastal and offshore on the Pacific NW for cruising and a little fishing in the 24-27' range.

My budget is limited to around $15K. So here is the question, is there an older Cruiser that can handle the seas as well as an older Sport Fisher (eg older Grady, Pursuit, etc) for this size and budget? Is there a particular manufacturer or model that is known for its sea-keeping abilities? Or do I need to stick to Sport Fishers?

Thanks for your info.

I know some boaters in the pnw who fish a lot a couple have 24' Bayliner with a hardtop & another has a similar size Trophy. They are newer boats & their value is higher than your budget but you should be able to find something older in your price range. Also you might google iboatnw.com for some help finding something suitable.

Re: Cruiser or Sport Fisher?

Did you ever make a decision? I am in same boat...
Want the sex appeal of a fun cruiser, but would love to maintain the utilitarian aspects of a fishing and crabbing vessel for the same waters as you.
