Albin 32+2 CB - Anyone Else Have One?

I would like to have discussions with others that have an Albin 32+2 CB. I have seveal questions relate to cruising in this type boat. I also am aware of the Albin Owners group, but that site is not as active as this one.

I have a slightly newer version of the Albin 32+2 called the Albin 35 Command Bridge. Basically the same boat, but the cockpit was changed a little. Mine is a 2005 model with a single Yanmar 440 hp diesel and 6 kw Northern Lights generator. I've owned the boat for just one season, but so far so good. I bought the boat in Michigan and brought it back to Rhode Island via Lake Erie, the Erie Canal, Hudson River and Long Island Sound. A wonderful trip and the Albin performed very well -- it was comfortable for my wife and myself, cruised easily at 17-20knots, and I have been generally impressed with the quality of equipment and installation methods used on the boat.

There are negatives with the boat like any boat -- the command bridge is snug for more than about three people, the engine is stuffed under the cockpit with a V-drive and access can be a hassle, and the main cabin area is not too big -- but it is very well designed and laid out for a couple to go cruising.

By the way, you mentioned the Albin Owner' Group. There are two Albin groups -- one in Yahoo Groups that is active but most of the threads relate to the Albin 25 and 27. The other Albin Owners group has a good group of knowledgeable owners and I would guess you could get answers to your questions from several 32+2 owners.

I've never been on the 32 but spent some time on a 27. In general, Albin make great boats.

They do have a cored hull below the waterline so if purchasing, get a good surveyor. If the fittings below the waterline are sealed properly, the boat will last forever.
