technical difficulties

Mark was dingy sailing yesterday. I looked out, and thought now that looks odd.
It was odd, he sort of drifted to a dock, at which point I could see that the mast has broken. Ah well.
Off to the shop we headed. There is a piece of white oak, we had made into a spinnaker pole for the other boat. A pole I hated, it has now been resized, and shaped. Sanding currently taking place, then off to the boat, a couple of coats of Cetol, and fine tuning, and dingy will be sailing again.
That 26 knot gust was a bit much for the spruce mast I suppose.
Cheers

The new mast works like a charm . How nice when a project works out. That little dingy gets lots of attention when we are out in her, wether we are rowing or sailing. I confess we most often are sailing.
