A moped confession

Arrived in Progreso Yucatan, Mexico six weeks ago. Bought a moped, have not ridden motorized two wheels in decades. You see where this is heading.

Re-learning on back roads. That was the mistake. The road I was on was cratered like the moon. Dogs were living in some potholes.

I was doing a blistering 10kpk when I noticed my instrument panel stopped indicating anything. I went to tap it like one does on any malfunction when a deep pothole scooted in front of me.

$240 Canadian later I left the emergency room with a broken collar bone and all my road rashes scrubbed clean.

Then had to prep the boat for H Grace a week later.

Re: A moped confession

Crews of most mega yachts are not allowed to ride those in port because so many have died in them.

The small wheels make it difficult and bad in rough terrain.

Glad that’s all that happened.

Most motorcycle accidents happen at only 30mph too.

Poor you! Situational awareness lessons can be a real pain!
