Here's another article from the Sidney Morning Herald about the claim of the pirates (cargo belonging to Sudan).

I don't mean to make light of this incident with the yacht because that is apalling but i don't beleive that there is any rule against have a potato gun and if questioned you can say that it is for launching life savers =) but seriously though a potato gun hurts a whole lot.

Honey, hold the bucket of gasoline until they get close, and then pitch the whole thing in their boat. I will throw a flare and then keep em off our boat some other way!
Seriously, on that other forum, a story was told of pirates opening fire on the cabin areas of the two sailboats they were attacking without warning or demand. If they are gonna shoot me anyway, I want to have a chance to shoot back.
