Hi Sam and Sally:

I don't know if this is the right type of forum for you. This forum has to do with people sailing their own boats around the world. You might be looking for a forum on cruise ships.

A shame she got away before anyone could recommend packing a sextant.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

That's the trouble of following the Google trail. It can lead one off in a different direction all too quickly.
For the life of me I can't see the point of going from a city on land to living on a city on the water and calling it "cruising" though.

Four months is a bit quick for one of our "cruisers" to do an around the world cruise. Four years, maybe.

Hard tack, kipper, and salt pork, And a jet engine to get my boat going that fast.

And limes, and rum, (just to stop scurvy),

It's the internet culture. Google, join, ask...

This is like running into a church and shouting, "where da hoes at!"

We all turn around from our bibles and say, "Maybe you want the place next door."

We really are a nice place.

Other forums are like biker bars and the OP would be running in and shouting, "Harley's suck!". They would crispy toast a person like the OP. In very colorful language...

"where da hoes at!" Love it.
Last time I was in Singapore, btw, I found Jimmy Cornell's books sandwiched in between books on cruise ships and cruise ship "cruising." They were far away from the sailing section... Stuff happens.
I also, unbelievably, found a spiral bound guide on "Cruising Puget Sound," which had sat on the shelf, covered in dust for two years. Must have been the only lonely copy in Asia. I dusted it off and snatched it up.

Cheers.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

We all had the chance to snag one for our "religion", and that is sailing on our choice of destinations and time schedules. Boy you cruising folks lack the zealous drive of other "religions", letting Sam and Sally get away without listening to the pulpit on "how to roll your own" world cruising.
