Could be. I dont understand the whole "catch-and-release" theory.

BTW, last year I've read this book about modern piracy, amazing read but as I read I kept on wondering why almost no one is doing the obvious: arming their crews and ships? In most cases those pirates use RIBs and are armed with AK-47s and knives - doesn't take much firepower do deter such a threat, especially from a modern cargo ship.

In the book it is mentioned that Russians and Israelis are doing just this: their crews are armed and trained to use their arms. The author says pirates learned about this the hard way and now usually don't try to board ships under Russian or Israeli flag. Pretty surprising, isn't it?

The way to stop this is sure not by paying money to the pirates. And the longer we pay them, the more problem we will have to deal with one day. And we will have to deal with this problem one day. So why delay?

Meanwhile, UN will collect money to feed the pirates' children.
