Holy sh1t thinks me, those 60 knot winds and 12 meter seas near the cape are giving her a hard time.

Then looks at blog and see she's still up at bloody French Polynesia and had a squall that had 30 knots in it.

The silence is that of a lot of concerned sailors holding their breath hoping she does OK despite her handlers.

Funny. I could have said the same about so many people and organisations over the course of her campaign so far. But her media team take a little dig back and suddenly they're the bad guys... Go figure.

Personally I have always thought she was irresponsible going to sea in a boat that didnt have a cod's head and a mackrel's tail.

6000nm at sea alone is a lot more than most of her critics have done I would guess.

Jessica has averaged 142.85 nm made good over the last week. That is pretty impressive for a S&S 34.

So far by my calculations 6000nm , 51 days, thats about an average of 4.87 knots ,,, not bad..

Seams like the cruise is over and will be heading into the "interesting" part of her journey..(what must that feel like?? knowing whats ahead!!!)

Question : After she reaches Cape Horn and heading for Cape Town what are the seas like between the Capes?? I know depends on the fronts ets.. but in general... And are the seas as the same in Cape Town like seas in Cape Horn...

LOL...Na...you already made your point..

My only worry for her is rather she brought along a helmet or not...From day one looking at her dodger design I kept saying to myself " I hope she doesn't kill herself from a head injury on that thing"

I had to quit wearing a ball cap on my head as the bill would shield my vision and I hit my head one to many times..The way her dodger is constructed I wouldn't need to be hampered with my vision for that to happen...one misstep or loss of balance and bang!...This is my greatest fear for her ..getting a serious head injury from that stupid dodger...not rather she can handle spindrift or not.
