Antarctic Cruise Ship in Trouble

Quote:
An Antarctic cruise ship that broke down during a rough storm was slowly returning to its home port in Argentina Wednesday with 160 people on board.

The Clelia II declared an emergency on Tuesday, reporting it had suffered engine damage amid heavy seas and 55 mph (90 kph) winds when it was northeast of the South Shetland Islands and about 500 miles (845 kilometers) from Ushuaia,

High seas knocked out an engine on the Clelia II Tuesday,

They sure got their moneys worth on that trip. Last year, didn't one of those ships sink after hitting an iceberg? From what I heard, they got their pilothouse blown out by a wave and lost most of their engine power. This boat ain't out of the woods yet. Give 'em prayer or something.

I just showed this to a friend of mine who does naturalist tours every year down there.

His reply was, "Reminds me of a lecture that I once gave while crossing the Drake Passage. Pretty hard to keep the attention of those assembled!"

No chit sherlock!
