Thank you, now it feels better. I read the news at midnight European time (6 pm New York time) and assumed she fell overboard since she manually activated the EPIRBs and not was contacting anyone, and that she was not alive. That gave a bad nights sleep. Now I understand one EPIRB one mounted onboard and one is personal.

The Qantas airliner sent to fly over Abby's position should have just reached that location. They have enough fuel for about two hours in the area (depending on how low they go).

The fastest news agency seems to be the local Perth news, for those wanting an update when any news comes in from the team on board the Qantas flight:

The sailing anarchy site has multiple reports from the Aussie media reporting that the Qantas flight has sighted and made radio contact with Abby, alive and the boat's still afloat. no other details yet...

She's alive! The plane spotted her, dismasted and upright, and they talked on the radio. Abby's in good spirits.

Thats wonderful news!
Talking to the plane will give her the morale to hang on through the night till a vessel arrives.

Its not over yet, as we all know.

That is the best news I've heard in a long time. This will certainly add a chapter or two to her book if she chooses to write one. I'll certainly buy it.
