A Real Junk Rig!

This probably belongs in Knotty Bouyz' thread Nautical oddities but you have to give these guys credit for doing something to raise awareness of the pollution of the Pacific by casually discarded plastic items.

Plastic bottle raft sails out of Long Beach for Hawaii




Junk -- a raft made of 15,000 plastic bottles, a repurposed old Cessna 310 airplane, and other odds and ends -- set sail from Long Beach today to make its 6-week trip to Hawaii.

And here I am preping my boat for the same trip and worrying about it! Just think...At 5 cents a bottle for recycling in Hawaii, he can fly back in first class!!!
