Saving post as draft

After having spent nearly an hour constructing and editing a post (new thread) using a mobile phone, with links and photos, just to find out it disappeared like a fart in to Sahara, I do wish CF would save every post as a Draft in a similar way as an email app does until the post is actually posted...

Re: Saving post as draft

I'm sorry you had this experience and know how frustrating it can be. One suggestion I have is to actually use your e-mail program for drafts... then copy/paste into the forum reply editor. The forum reply editor should save your post text for a while but if your internet connection is reset while writing that text may be lost. This especially a problem on mobile and you may never notice the temp disconnect by your provider while writing...

That's great advice Janet, thank you so much!
I talk about email draft and don't realize this method myself, doh!
I will try to remember next time, thank you again.

Re: Saving post as draft

So how does the save draft option work on my iPad CF app. If I cancel a post before sending it gives me an option to save the draft but where does it save it to?

SkipperPete,

If you lose posts often, then compose in any word processing program, even a voice one, check for errors (which happen too much for me, in the voice translation apps), and then copy and post.

It all depends on if you want the extra step. But word perfect posts are possible.

Ann
