Problems Downloading Pages from CF

I'm starting to have more and more trouble downloading pages from the forum. I'm using Google chrome browser and XP. This is the error message I get when I click on a new link:

No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

My solution is to hit the refresh button until I see some other response, but sometime it takes 5 refreshes to get anywhere. Once downloading starts, everything is OK. It happens mostly on the CF website.

Is there something I need to adjust on the browser??

Don,
Have you tried using another browser (IE8, FIrefox, etc) to see if you get the same error?

Try clearing your cookies and internet cache. Clean prefetch data.
Download CCleaner (free) and get a registry scan.

If it slow internet the forum in the User Panel / Options allows you to turn off photos and Avitars.

I also get the same error but typically it is in Google Chrome and it seems to be happening more frequently lately. Switching to IE seems to resolve the issue. In my case, I have a router.

Do you have a router? I find Chrome is fine some times and then other times it can take 4 or 5 retries to get it to work. I thought it was perhaps due to the load on the CF servers but maybe the problem is at my end. However, I don't have this problem with other sites using Chrome.

Yes I have a router and use two notebooks and one netbook. All work fine. I find CF one of the faster sites to load.

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP my next question is, what version of Exployer are you using to gain internet access? Next I'd question whether the versions of Adobe Flash Player is fully compatible with the version of Google Chrome running on your compute and if both of those versions still support not only your operating system but fully support the version of Adobe running at CF.

Nope, running win7. Not sure about Flash Player version, however.

As a matter of interest I use Win 7 and have never had a problem downloading from CF. As you may have guessed I use Firefox and occasionally IE9. My system is behind a router.

I have a simular setup. My router is furnished by Comcast and several months ago they came to my home and via their labtop they made modifactions to the software to enhance the performace of the router. I also have Comcast "burst" internet for speeds to 25mps.
I have the full suite of Norton prodects to provide security and delete old files/and registers.
I also have my Windows settings set for automatic updates and receive at least 20 updates from Microsoft a month, mostly firewall stuff.

Adobe sent me a new version of their Flash Player. When I installed it the Google Earth icon disappeared and Google Crome was unrelaible. I finally uninstalled both Google products and downloaded a fresh set of programs from their website. I've experienced no problens since.
