Last Five or Seven Days' Posts

Hi, Is there anyway to view all new/updated posts for the last 5 or 7 days? I think that would be a great feature for people who want to see what is going on but don't have time to get on every day.

Thanks!
Marty

Click on New Posts in the menu bar that runs along the bottom of the box containing your User Name when you're logged in. That will bring up a list of unread posts - which could be for whatever length of time it's been since you were last logged in and reading. If you had read everything in a thread, or had marked everything in the Forum as having been read, that establishes the baseline from which the software is "remembering" where you left off.

To mark everything read, click on Quick Links in the same menu bar, then select the second item from the drop-down list, Mark Forums Read. That will zero out every post in every thread in every Forum, just as if you had read them all. Incidentally, the item just above Mark Forums Read in the list is Today's Posts. It is the same as New Posts, but returns a list from the past 24 Hours.

I often check in to CF several times a day from different computers (and I don't usually bother to log in unless I want to post). I just look at the "Recent Discussions" list on the first page. It's a great way to quickly scan many ongoing conversations, and read the ones that interest me.

Is there any way the site could expand that list, so we could "page through" say, the first 25 most recent discussions, then the next 25, and so on in reverse chronological order?

Or make a drop-down box that says something like "Show 25 most recent discussions," "Show 50 most recent discussions," etc.?

If you feel limited by the 25 Recent Discussions when you aren't logged in, try clicking on Today's Posts, instead. This will provide the sort of thing you've described. It's a list of all posts over the last 24 hours from the most recent to the oldest. Just start down the first page, scanning titles for whatever catches your interest, then going on to page 2, etc. if you want to go further back.

If you log in, click on Quick LInks and select Today's Posts (first item on the drop-down menu). The added benefit with this version is that threads that have been updated with new posts since you last read the thread will be in bold type, while those that haven't received new posts since you read the thread are not in bold type. It's a real time-saver.

Thanks very much! Not sure how I managed to overlook that feature.
