Deleting posts?

Is it a thing to have a post deleted by mods? If so, what are the criteria?

Re: Deleting posts?

I would think the "rules" tab at the top of the page would cover most of what the ... ahem ... rules are.

Probably so. I suppose rudeness is in the eye of the beholder. Getting called out isn’t Rude, it’s a course correction from where I sit.

Curious how you’re supposed to contact a moderator who deleted your post without knowing who did it.

Check your in box... there is likely a message from a mod.
Usually I get informed of a deletion and why.. I can then question it if I choose to.

Re: Deleting posts?

IMHO:

Given the current state of affairs, I can understand the owners of this forum and the moderators acting with an abundance of caution.

However:

The current state of affairs disgusts me.

I was going to elaborate ... but I think what I have said is enough.

Feel free to contact any of the moderators, we all work as a team.

Challenging what someone has posted is welcomed, we just expect it to be done with some decorum.

Its the only way I know there's been a deletion...
Once I've posted its forgotten.. kinda.
I rarely go back to review a post of mine as usually a challenge has a quote..
Happy enough I got it out there and I pissed off someone enough for them to have a whinge..

I think I saw the post you were referring to. Maybe it was in the thread about Sailorboy’s dinghy being stolen?

I was going to reply to it but it disappeared.

I disagreed with it but I didn’t see a problem with it.
