App log in problems

The app won't let me log in anymore. I can log on online but not from the app. When I try, it says

I'm sorry you are having trouble. Please delete the app from your device and restart. Then download the updated app from the app store and try it again

I did this once before and it only worked u til I closed the app down. Today, I did it again and it is working! Thanks so much for your help!
